AFIA Festival is an annual music and dance festival (est.2016) A festival celebrating South African culture, with guest appearances of other african/african diaspora cultures!
During 8 days in the beginning of summer in Stockholm city we gather from different cities, countries and continents to dance, talk, experience, battle, jam and club together. As the sun doesn’t set in June in Sweden, our vibe doesn’t either, we continue celebrating unity and love for South African music and dance throughout the whole week. The main subject of the Festival is isiPantsula and South african house music.
At Afia Festival we go deep, we go beyond the surface of trends and waves, we want to know why, how and when. Join us on this journey of learning, celebrating, enjoying, connecting and opening up!
This year we are applying a solidarity based ticketing system with the hope to give as many as possible the chance to participate. This at the same time as we are in need of the tickets as fundings to run the festival. The ticketing system relies on the majority paying the recommended price. FESTIVAL PASS The Festival pass gives you the in depth expereince of the 8 days festival: with over 10 dance workshops, 5 teachers, 2 DJ workshops, lectures, movie, Opening party, battle, Jam and Club Woza. (obs. Boat party and Music Production is not included.)
