➤ VANSIND (DK) - After a very promising EP released back in 2021 and a handful of singles that sparked folkmetal fan's enthusiasm - especially the Scandinavian strain - Vansind has finally released its debut album, ’Mørket’ through Target/Mighty Music in November 2023. With their roots planted deep and strong in the dark Danish soil, the band provides a solid soundtrack for battle, chain dance and raised horns with melodies inspired by folk music that meets solid metal, rumbling growls, and clean female singing. The lyrical themes are inspired by the darker side of Nordic mythology and Scandinavian history. Where the glimmer of the eye meets the glimpse of the sword you will find Vansind. And, if you enter the dance, maybe you will get a glimpse of the mighty Valhal too. Vansind is based in Slagelse, Denmark and was formed in the summer of 2019 as a folk-inspired metal band. All Vansind members musical background is vastly different, but they have a shared love for the music and a determination to add something special to the Danish folkmetal scene. In 2023 alone they graced festivals such as Næstved Metalfest (DK), Asgaard Rock Festival (DK), Warhorns Festival (UK), Hörnerfest (DE), Burning Q Festival (DE) and Udgaardsfest (DK) and have now set sails for a bigger conquering tour in support of their amazing new debut studio album.
➤ LOMBOLO (SE) - Out of the dark Swedish forests of metropolitan Stockholm comes Lombolo, bringing you back to the days of adventure and mystery! Lombolo blends Melodeath and Power Metal with the Nordic folk music of their home. Catchy, heavy and extremely danceable, Lombolo tells tales of folklore and history in their native Swedish. Vocals are provided by three different members, each with their own style. Accompaniment is provided by flute, mandolin, accordion, and kantele. The childhood friends Lennart (clean vocals, flute, accordion) and Walerius (guitars, mandolin, kantele, growls) had played music together since they were 9 years old. When they met Johan (bass, clean and harsh vocals) in 2017 the basis for the band was formed. In 2024, the trio became a quintet when they added Christofer on drums and Bonden on rhythm guitar. They released Vandringsmannen, their first full-length album in July of 2020. In August 2023 they released their sophomore album Här och Där. In 2024 the band made their festival debut, playing on the highly regarded Månegarm Open Air festival alongside bands such as Månegarm, Vintersorg and Primordial.
