Gals Galej – An all-female-fronted lineup, all-women-working BTS, all is welcome!

Kollektivet Livet is proud to present Gals Galej – A night where music, community, and empowerment come together, shining a light on the female and non binary artists, musicians, and organizers who are shaping a more just future of live scenes.

Gals Galej is an initiative led by Frida Mirage, whose internship at Kollektivet Livet last fall became the spark for this project. Born out of a desire to address the imbalance within the music scene, Gals Galej responds to a recent survey conducted by the Swedish Musicians' Union amongst others, which highlights the underrepresentation within the industry.

Lineup for the Evening:

Izza gara - Stockholm-based Swedish-Turkish artist, producer and songwriter Izza Gara has established herself as a prominent voice in the alternative RnB, electro and dance music scene. With the song "Came To Dance" she gained international attention, which paved the way for several global collaborations, the release of her acclaimed EP YOUNG and performances at some of Sweden's best live stages. Over the years, Izza Gara has explored various art forms, where dance plays a significant role in her personal and creative expression.

Mami Umami – Led by rapper and singer Jaqueline Elamiri, aka “Miss Mami,” Mami Umami brings a genre-blending musical journey that spans from hip-hop to jazz, punk, and indie. Their dynamic, experimental sound will keep you on your toes and the dancefloor energized throughout the night.

LUJAIN – “Middle East meets the West - sacred meets sinful” - LUJAIN is an artist whose ethereal and powerful vocals, paired with her custom-designed piano, have earned praise from iconic figures like Timbaland. With a sound that is uniquely her own, LUJAIN continues to make an indelible mark on the music scene. Her live performance promises to be a mesmerizing and unforgettable experience.

DJs – The evening’s DJs, Johanna Beckman and Beniwasta, will keep the vibe alive with an electrifying B2B set of house beats, ensuring the dancefloor stays packed all night long.

Hosts of Gals Galej: Dorothy Mörner & Helia Hole– Two passionate advocates for the visibility of women, non-binary and trans people in the music industry. Dorothy, as a former board member of ODA Studios, and Helia as former operation manager for Popkollo, have both worked tirelessly to create more space for the underrepresented within the industry. Today, deeply involved in their new project Tour Tornado, they help independent artists to perform across Europe.

Tour Tornado Onsite! Tour Tornado will also be present at Gals Galej to share information about their initiative where one can sign up interest to tour across Europe, as well as to learn more about arranging shows. Founded as a response to the tough and unequal nature of the music industry, Tour Tornado has quickly become a vital platform for artists looking to expand their reach.
