Visitors can come and go as they please. A single entry ticket allows visitors to attend as many evenings as they wish, subject to availability. Opening hours: Thursday–Saturday 18:00–21:00, Sunday 14:00–17:00.
Over 20 unique evenings from February 13 to March 16, ***iwillmedievalfutureyou2 ***will feature more than 30 artists from 14 different countries at Lilith Performance Studio in Malmö.
***iwillmedievalfutureyou2 ***is a form that aims to merge into a constantly changing whole. None of the 20 evenings will be like the other; works will be exchanged, added, and built upon throughout the period.
Each evening will feature 4-6 performances, some simultaneous, others recurring in intervals, alongside sculptures, installations, films, and paintings.
Jacob Fabricius, curator and director of Art Hub Copenhagen, presents the conceptual exhibition form iwillmedievalfutureyou, a series of ten non-chronological group exhibitions spanning 100 years. These exhibitions explore the future through imaginative, bizarre, and dystopian depictions of our present.
For iwillmedievalfutureyou2, Jacob Fabricius has collaborated with the artist duo LILITH, drawing inspiration from Danish author and playwright Ida Marie Hede’s text “Protect the Salmon”. The text will be performed live on several evenings and also as a sound piece narrated by actors David Dencik and Asta Kamma August, exclusively for iwillmedievalfutureyou2.
iwillmedievalfutureyou focuses on humanity's impact on nature and technology's influence on the human body, combining themes of the primitive, the grotesque, and medieval fantasies. Each iteration changes and reshapes both the layout, presentation, and invited artists to reflect new perspectives and evolve as an ongoing narrative.
The iwillmedievalfutureyou series has previously been presented as more traditional exhibitions, titled and numbered in the order of the release of the popular Star Wars films (4-5-6-1), at Kunsthal Aarhus (2017 and 2018), the Museum of Contemporary Art in Roskilde (2016), and the Art Sonje Center in South Korea (2019).
Participating artists: Kristoffer Akselbo, Pranay Dutta, Li Yin-Fan, Jules Fischer, Ida Marie Hede, Leif Holmstrand, Kim Heecheon, Keunmin Lee, Mire Lee, Laura Lima, Molly Lowe, Éva Mag, Dafna Maimon, Hyeji Nam, Tontey Natasha, Rolf Nowotny, Aniara Omann, Agnieszka Polska, Anna-Karin Rasmusson, Riar Rizaldi, Elias Rønnenfeldt, Ásta Fanney Sigurðardóttir, Magnus Wallin, Peter Wächtler, Chuah Chong Yan, He Zike, and others.
***iwillmedievalfutureyou2 ***is a continuation of one of the pieces in the exhibition Anslagets konst, curated by Jacob Fabricius and presented at Malmö Konstmuseum until May 5, 2025.
