Jul på slottet med Allmänna Sången - Lör. 16:30

During the first weekend of December, the castle in Uppsala is decorated with glitter and candlelight as Allmänna Sången celebrates Christmas at the Castle. The choir has hosted their renowned Christmas concerts since 2013, together with award-winning conductor Maria Goundorina. Now, Allmänna Sången once again invites its audience to take a break under the Christmas trees, with hopes that the winter cold will feel slightly less biting after an hour of musical companionship.

This year, we have the pleasure of collaborating with tenor Tobias Westman and pianist Victoria Power. Tobias Westman was awarded the Anders Wall Giresta Scholarship in 2014 and graduated from Stockholm University of the Arts in 2015. In recent years, he has appeared in productions at both the Paris Opera and the Royal Swedish Opera. Victoria Power received her education from the Royal College of Music in London and Edsberg Musical Institute in Stockholm. She has been part of Christmas at the Castle since 2017, and is now, among many other roles, creative director at Music at the Castle in Stockholm.

Allmänna Sången is the oldest academic choir in Scandinavia, and is considered one of Sweden’s finest mixed choirs. The Christmas concerts are hosted in partnership with the Anders Wall foundation.
