Nikolai Schirmer will come here for a visit and Höjdmeter will be there to give an interview.

Internationally renowned skier and filmmaker Nikolai Schirmer discovers that his reclusive childhood friend is training for an unusual ski trip:

Vegard Rye plans to accomplish an inhuman feat - climb up and ski down 27 mountains in one continuous trip. The journey is equivalent to running four marathons and climbing Mount Everest three times. To achieve this, Vegard isolates himself from friends and family, lives in caves and devotes his entire existence to training. Nikolai wants to make sure that the whole world gets to share in the feat, even though Vegard would have preferred to keep it to himself, and tries his hand at Vegard's training methods at the same time. He quickly realizes that it is easier to tell a story than to live it.

SKI is a documentary about inhuman feats but also about friendship and why it is sometimes lost.

About Nikolai Schirmer: Nikolai Schirmer is a Norwegian skier, lawyer, filmmaker, environmentalist and humble daredevil. Almost exclusively from the mountains surrounding his home in Tromsø – to reduce his carbon footprint – Nikolai has mastered the balance between creating ski films in POV format that both appeal to the most die-hard ski fans and entertain a wider audience.
