The Belgian-French guitarist and composer Django Reinhardt (1910-1953) is considered one of the world's foremost jazz guitarists. He spent most of his childhood among romans in Paris and played the guitar and violin from an early age. At the age of 18, he was badly burned and two fingers on his left hand were destroyed. However, he did not give up and managed to develop his own playing style with new fingering and became one of the most admired guitarists in the world.

Birger Sundström and Skellefteå Hot Four tells us more about this unique musician and what he meant. They take us back to 1930s Paris and intersperse Django's music with stories about his life.

Skellefteå Hot Four: Birger Sundström, Guitar Monica Sundström, Flute and Melodica Torbjörn Ahnqvist, Guitar Magnus Bergner, Contrabass

In Swedish.

The performance is part of the Storytelling Festival
