Melt: Axle (UK), Beatrice M. (FR), Ekaliff & Mod S

On the 19th of October, Melt invites you to our next very special party. We are joined by two of the most exciting names emerging within the dubstep/bass scene, connecting the dots between Bristol, Paris and Malmö.

Label heads Axle [Dimeshift] and Beatrice M. [Bait] have both been getting heavy recognition over the past two years by throwing new light onto the dubstep-genre and its place in the club scene. Visionaries in their respective sounds, they’ve both found common ground through their label outputs (which Melt founders Ekaliff and Mod Sens have had their names on). We are absolutely thrilled to bring them to Malmö and further tie the bonds between Melt, Bait and Dimeshift on this exclusive occasion at Inkonst.

𝑨𝒙𝒍𝒆 (𝑼𝑲) Axle is a Bristol-based DJ and producer with a monthly residency on ‘Swu FM’ and a debut release on Darwin’s SPE:C imprint which gained huge traction from a wide range of renowned DJs in Europe. Being on steady rotation by names like Riz La Teef, Re:ni, Mia Koden and Introspekt, it’s an understatement to call it a successful debut. Inspired by the sound of the early 2000s, Dimeshift was launched by Axle with the aim to take things in a new direction. Reimagining grooves and feelings from a past era whilst exploring how this sound can be reinvented in the future. Axle’s DJ-sets include music that extends from and beyond his own influences. 𝑩𝒆𝒂𝒕𝒓𝒊𝒄𝒆 𝑴. (𝑭𝑹) Born in France to English parents, Beatrice M. creates a signature blend of syncopated UK-genres with trancy technoïd groovers, and balances old school elements with crisp and contemporary sound design. The Bait label head aims to push and merge these same sonics through their imprint, which results in an output of snare heavy bass music and immersive psychedelic techno. 𝑬𝒌𝒂𝒍𝒊𝒇𝒇 & 𝑴𝒐𝒅 𝑺𝒆𝒏𝒔 Those who are familiar with Melt need no introduction to the DJ maestro’s that are Ekaliff & Mod Sens. The pair of them are renowned in their own rights in the Malmö dance music scene having been ‘around the block’ far more than once. Both of the Melt crew members have a personal connection to our overseas bookings, which was a big aspect that inspired this event to happen. Ekaliff with their mad signature dubstep & halftime selections reached out to the like-minded Beatrice M. and Mod Sens with his polished and bass heavy 2-step infused style has linked up with sound-affiliate Axle. Bringing everyone together in holy matrimony for this one off occasion, the combination of styles couldn’t be better matched.
