The Mobile Homes is a Swedish synthpop band formed in 1984 in Sätra, Sweden, by brothers Andreas and Patrik Brun, along with Per Liliefeldt and vocalist Hans Erkendal. Over the years, the band has undergone several lineup changes and collaborated with notable artists, including Denniz Pop, Karl Bartos (formerly of Kraftwerk), and Julian Beeston (ex-Nitzer Ebb).
In 2009, The Mobile Homes released the album "Today Is Your Lucky Day," produced by Sami Sirviö, guitarist of the renowned Swedish band Kent. This collaboration marked the beginning of a deeper association between the two bands. By 2021, both Sami Sirviö and Markus Mustonen, Kent's drummer, had become permanent members of The Mobile Homes.
The current lineup of The Mobile Homes includes:
Hans Erkendal Patrik Brun Andreas Brun Sami Sirviö (Kent) Markus Mustonen (Kent)
In 2023, the band released their eighth studio album, "Tristesse," which has been described as a dark and melancholic masterpiece. The album features a guest appearance by Bon Harris of Nitzer Ebb and showcases The Mobile Homes' signature melodic synthpop sound.
Throughout their career, The Mobile Homes have been compared to bands like Depeche Mode and have maintained a significant presence in the Swedish synth scene. Their evolution over the decades reflects their adaptability and enduring appeal in the electronic music landscape.
