Carminho

No music has sung of destiny, fate and the plight of the poor the way fado has, and still instilled such joy and such a wealthy sense of empowerment. In her family, the fado tradition is rich – she is the daughter of fado legend Teresa Siqueira – and at the same time, few singers have updated fado as much in modern times as Carminho. Her debut took both Portugal and the world by storm, it sold platinum in her homeland and the reception internationally was overwhelming. In Brazil in particular, it led to artistic collaboration with some of the country’s greatest, including Milton Nascimento, Chico Barque and Nana Caymmi. Which led to a sophomore effort including meetings between fado and Brazilian treasures such as bossa nova and mpb, as well as contemporary pop. We are immensely proud to, in cooperation with Maxim, be able to welcome Carminho to Stockholm for the first time in over a decade
