The world is not always what you think it is. On the surface, things may look familiar, but if you look closer, you’ll often discover secrets so extraordinary that you could never imagine them. Jim Hawkins is one of those who has devoted his life to uncovering these mysteries. He is an adventurer, closer to the greatest treasure in history than anyone has ever been before. But the journey there proves to be more difficult and infinitely more complicated than he ever could have imagined.

Together with a crew of carefully selected specialists, Jim sets foot on a legendary island—an island known to be the burial place of a fortune rarely seen. Close behind follows a band of notorious pirates sailing under the black flag, refusing to move on empty-handed. Caught between these opposing forces, the island’s inhabitants find themselves in a pursuit they neither asked for nor wanted. As the waves crash their hardest, Jim must choose between the dreams he has held since childhood and the compass of his own heart.

Sommarteatern’s Treasure Island is a story about ambition, expectations, and loyalty—about the difference between truly wanting something and needing it. With a newly written script, filled with exciting turns and unexpected fates, we invite you to something entirely new but at the same time familiar. VENUE: Sommarteatern’s outdoor stage in Öja, next to Åbergs Trädgård in Öja, Ystad.

RUNNING TIME: The performance lasts 2 hours and 40 minutes, including a 20-minute intermission.

FOOD & DRINKS: We have an on-site café selling drinks, snacks, ice cream, cinnamon buns, hot dogs, and more. You’re also welcome to bring your own picnic basket to enjoy before the show in our green area or during intermission.

All singing and dialogue are amplified by microphones, and the venue is equipped with a hearing loop. The performance on July 9th will include sign language interpretation.
