Another dramatic monologue with Görel Crona, in collaboration with musician Ola Sandström KUNG BYXLÖS – the queen of woes King Byxlös is the story of war and peace, power and sisterhood, love and betrayal, and of a lonely woman's conviction that unity is strength. Görel Crona recounts the dramatic story of Margareta Valdemarsdotter – the woman who in the 14th century united the Nordic countries and became perhaps the most powerful ruler the Nordic countries have ever seen. Daughter of King Valdemar Atterdag of Denmark. Married off at the age of ten to King Håkon of Norway. Raised by Saint Birgitta's daughter and later guardian of the kingdom in both Denmark and Norway – with the rights of a king. Through clever political moves and ingenious negotiation techniques, she manages to free the Nordic countries from the Hanseatic League and also put Sweden under her feet. She now rules over Sweden, Norway and Denmark including today's Finland, Iceland, Greenland, the Faroe Islands and the Hebrides. Queen Margareta becomes King Byxlös – the woman who creates the Kalmar Union, unites the Nordic countries and arranges lasting peace between the Nordic countries. Follow along as Görel Crona portrays her deed – a deed that is unparalleled.
Performances by Text: Margareta Skantze., Regi: Görel Crona., Sång och gitarr. Ola Sandström.
